Fishing on Lake Tarawera

I went fishing with some mates on Lake Tarawera this Queen's Birthday weekend. It was freeeezzzzing cold but at least it didn't rain much. We trolled out at Humphries Bay and I caught a nice trout on the homeward leg.

My friend has bought a new boat with a cabin so they decided to camp at Hot water Beach for the weekend, I can't say that I envy them as it has certainly turned cold. I was glad to get back in front of the TV with the heater on. Oh well trout for tea yum!!!!

Accelerate Marae Trip Term 1

Napier

I just spent this weekend in Napier with my wife who was presenting at an Early Childhood Centre Cluster group. She was sharing about blogging with younger children. I thought she was awesome. I have been amazed with the confidence she shows sharing her Blogging journey in front of her peers.

We stayed at the Nautilus on Marine Parade which was really flash. We had a great weekend. It was Kim's birthday as well so that made the weekend a double celebration.

Teachers Prayer

I want to teach my students how
To live life on this earth,
To face its struggles and its strife,
And improve their worth,
Not just a lesson in a book,
Or how the rivers flow,
But how to choose the proper path,
Wherever they may go,
To understand eternal truth,
And know right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of,
A flower and a song,
For if I help the world to grow,
In wisdom and in grace,
Then I shall feel that I have won,
And I have filled my place,
And so I ask your guidance God,
That I may do my part,
For character and confidence,
And happiness of heart.

This was one of the best days of my life!!!

Me

Hi, my name's Gordon and I am a teacher at Kaitao. I have worked there for about 8 years. I started off as a classroom teacher but now I teach ICT in the Technology Team. I also have a lot to do with sports at school and am presently working with the Challenge Academy, training them up for the Auckland Sports Camp which is held at Totara Springs. I really enjoy working at Kaitao with their awesome staff and senior Management. Mainly though I think the students are amazing and I love working with them.
